SPANISH LUNG CANCER GROUP
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH
The group comprises more than 600 specialists (oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiotherapists and basic researchers) and brings together 187 hospitals throughout Spain. This therefore enables the coordination between different institutions and experts to enhance collaboration in studies as well as to increase quality standards.
COMMITMENT TO RESEARCH
We are committed to and support translational and cooperative research as a key factor in the fight against lung cancer, promoting new lines of work in independent studies and providing support to young talent with the granting of scholarships to new projects. All of this allows us to provide early access to new therapies and drugs in order to make progress in increase survival of patients.
SOCIAL PARTICIPATION
We at GECP participate on a social level in the conduct of testing and mapping for lung cancer in Spain, detecting new alerts and trends and demanding that the Authorities adopt the measures necessary to deal with its incidence and mortality. We also fight for the primary prevention of the disease, supporting social awareness against the consumption of tobacco.
GECP VALUES
To create specific plans for each patient and therefore allow the most effective therapies to be identified that will improve the quality of life of patients and increase their survival rates.
